Good Morning! On this day in 1775, two weeks after the Continental Congress appointed him commander in chief, George Washington formally took command of the Continental Army. Washington declined any payment beyond reimbursement of future expenses.
Thursday is Independence Day, and we’re already considering what to grill for our picnics. Burgers and hot dogs are always popular, but perhaps you prefer something more substantial. Let us know in today’s Poll question below.

Trump’s Sentencing Put Off Until September
The judge in former President Donald Trump’s hush money case approved delaying his sentencing, originally set for next week, until at least September 18.
The presiding judge agreed to consider a recent Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity, which ruled on whether presidents could be prosecuted for their official actions while in office.
The delay pushes the sentencing back until well after the Republican National Convention, which starts on July 15, where Trump is expected to be formally nominated for President.
Questions Grow Over Biden’s Health
The fallout from President Biden’s disastrous debate performance last week continued Tuesday as pundits and Democratic lawmakers questioned his health and cognitive abilities.
Famous Watergate reporter Carl Bernstein claimed that in the last 18 months, White House staffers told him they’ve seen up to 20 incidents of “cognitive decline and physical infirmity” from the President.
House Democrat Lloyd Doggett became the first lawmaker to publicly call for Biden’s exit from the top of the ticket, saying the election was too important, and it was difficult to see how Biden could turn his campaign around.
In an attempt to quell the outcry, President Biden is scheduled to be interviewed by ABC’s George Stephanopoulos on Friday and will hold a press conference during the NATO summit next week.
U.S. Marshals Rescue 200 Children
The U.S. Marshals Service announced on Monday that it had located and rescued 200 missing or endangered children during a six-week operation.
The operation, named “Operation We Will Find You 2,” took place from May 20 to June 24 and targeted areas with high clusters of critically missing children, including Phoenix, Arizona, and Miami, Florida.
The recovered children included endangered runaways, victims of child abductions, and those susceptible to exploitation, including sex trafficking.
The agency noted that 57% of those found were recovered within seven days of the Marshals’ involvement.

It’s easy to forget that our sweat isn’t just water. But why is it that we only down a glass of water after a long run or a hot day? Our sweat consists of water and salt, so next time you’re reaching for that glass of water … remember to replenish those electrolytes.
After years of mixing his own electrolyte blends and frustration with healthy options on the market, LMNT Co-Founder and former Navy SEAL Robb Wolf used his experience as a biochemist to create his own product.
