U.S. Charges Hamas Leaders for Oct. 7 Attack
The U.S. Justice Department announced Tuesday it has charged six Hamas leaders, including political head Yahya Sinwar, with terrorism-related crimes connected to the Oct. 7 attacks on Israel.
The charges, filed in the Southern District of New York, include conspiracy to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization resulting in death and conspiracy to murder U.S. nationals.
Attorney General Merrick Garland emphasized that these charges are part of ongoing efforts to target Hamas’s operations, stating the DOJ will pursue those responsible “for the rest of their lives.”

Ex-NY Governor Aide Arrested as Chinese Spy
A former top aide to New York governors Kathy Hochul and Andrew Cuomo was arrested Tuesday on charges of acting as an illegal agent of the Chinese government.
The former aide, Linda Sun, allegedly used her high-ranking positions in state government to serve Chinese interests in exchange for millions of dollars. Her husband Chris Hu was arrested on related charges.
Prosecutors claim Sun blocked Taiwanese officials’ access to state leaders, altered messaging on China-related issues, and facilitated unauthorized travel for Chinese officials.
The couple reportedly used the money to purchase luxury homes and vehicles, with both pleading not guilty to the charges.

Musk’s Starlink Defies Brazil’s X Ban
Brazil’s Supreme Federal Court has officially banned Elon Musk’s X (formerly Twitter), giving internet providers and app stores until today to comply.
Adding to the standoff drama, Musk’s Starlink, with 250,000 users in Brazil, has refused to block the platform and may also be cut off.
The ban resulted from X’s failure to assign a legal representative in Brazil and comply with orders to suspend certain accounts, primarily people publishing right-wing posts.
This has resulted in $3 million in fines and asset freezes, with Brazilian authorities also freezing some Starlink assets. Musk claims that the assets of SpaceX and X have been seized.
