List: Ranking Median Income in Every State
A new ranking of states where workers earn the highest median income shows Massachusetts at the top, followed by Washington. Other states in the top 10 include Alaska, Colorado, and Rhode Island.
The median salaries in those ten states range from $60,690 in Massachusetts to $50,970 in Rhode Island. At the bottom of the scale, the 50th state is Mississippi, with a median income of $37,500.
The data, compiled by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, considers income only, and not the cost of living in each state. Here’s an interactive map showing the median income in all 50 states.

In fact, the results have been so remarkable, Horton is now the subject of a short documentary detailing exactly how his body-strengthening method works. It is online and free for the public to view and share.
