Congress passed another short-term stopgap funding bill to keep the government open but set new deadlines of March 1 and 8 for passage of a full budget.
The Senate passed its bill in the afternoon, 77-18, as lawmakers worked quickly to avoid the shutdown deadline of midnight tonight as well as a winter storm headed for Washington D.C.
In the House, efforts by some representatives to add an amendment on immigration to the bill were defeated, and the House voted under expedited rules for the stopgap funding bill. It passed 314-108 with mostly Democratic support.
No Labels Says it’s Targeted by ‘Conspiracy’
No Labels, the nonprofit group trying to build support for a third-party presidential ticket, filed a complaint with the Justice Department alleging a “conspiracy” among mostly Democratic-aligned groups to block its work at every level.
American Bridge, a Democratic Party opposition research organization, is openly focused on thwarting outsiders with legal challenges, whether No Labels or Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s independent effort.
The effort is separate from, but dovetails with, Democrats’ legal attempts to keep Donald Trump, a Republican, off primary ballots. Those cases are headed for the Supreme Court, while No Labels is now on the ballot in 14 states.
List: States Ranked by Cost of Groceries
The average American family spends roughly $270 at the grocery store every week, but the total varies depending on where you live. New research shows the cheapest states to buy groceries are all in the Midwest.
The new study, created by HelpAdvisor using U.S. census data, ranks all 50 states by how much groceries cost. The most expensive state is California, averaging $297 a week. But the most expensive city for groceries is Miami, at $327 a week.
States spending the least on groceries are Wisconsin ($221), Iowa ($227), and Nebraska ($235). The full ranking of states by grocery prices can be found here.

Scientists Discover New Way to Fight Aging
Do you want to hike in your 70s? Travel in your 80s? We can’t reverse aging, but we can age better. Scientists have discovered a longevity molecule, Urolithin A, that restores and renews mitochondria—aka your cellular powerhouses. Meet Mitopure® by Timeline Nutrition, the only clinically validated, highly pure Urolithin A supplement.
Did you know that ~90% of the food you eat and the air you breathe is used by your mitochondria to produce your body’s energy? By our 30s, our mitochondria can become less efficient, leading to a reduction in energy production. But there’s a way to counter this natural decline. When taken daily, Mitopure renews your mitochondria, increasing cellular energy. The results? Studies found participants saw muscle strength and endurance increase without any changes to exercise routines.
But Mitopure® is about more than today’s energy boost. It’s about transforming how you age and by supporting optimal cellular function, Mitopure® helps you maintain an active, energetic lifestyle, ensuring that your later years are just as fulfilling as your younger days.
