Supreme Court Sides With Google, Twitter
The Supreme Court gave a big victory to social media giants Google, Twitter, and Facebook in two related cases Thursday, ruling that they couldn’t be held liable for the algorithms they use to filter content for users.
The two Court decisions were narrowly tailored, determining only that the content at issue, involving terrorist videos, didn’t rise to the level of liability.
Left undecided for now was the much bigger issue of determining the reach of Section 230, the law that currently shields social media platforms from responsibility for their content.

Disney Cancels $1 Billion Project in Florida
Disney has canceled its $1 billion plan to move 2,000 California employees to a new campus outside Orlando, Fla., in an escalation of its battle with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
The company cited “changing business conditions” for its reversal, but DeSantis said Disney had already dithered on the project for two years.
Disney and DeSantis have been at war in the courts over governance of Disney’s property outside Orlando, a battle sparked when Disney took a strong stand against a Florida law setting age restrictions on sex-and-gender education in public schools.

Young Boy Saves Sister With Slingshot
A Michigan boy used a slingshot to save his 8-year-old sister from a potential kidnapper while the young girl was foraging for mushrooms in the woods outside their home.
Police say the boy, 13, heard his sister scream and saw an older teenage boy dragging her away. He leaned out his window and fired rocks at the assailant from his slingshot.
When police caught the attacker, he had visible injuries. “I was just lucky,” the brother said.
