Tim Scott Ready to Take on Trump
Tim Scott, the only Black Republican in the US Senate, is expected to officially announce his candidacy for the presidency today.
He says he wants to build a coalition of traditional conservatives, evangelical Christians, and moderate Republicans to beat Donald Trump for the GOP nomination.

Marine Vet Raises $2.7 Million
Daniel Penny, the Marine veteran charged with killing Jordan Neely on a NY subway, has raised $2.7 million for his legal defense on the donation platform GiveSendGo.
That’s the second-highest amount ever raised on GiveSendGo, donated by 55,000 supporters, including conservative celebrities such as GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and musician Kid Rock.
The site bills itself as “No. 1 free Christian fund-raising site.” The highest amount it ever raised, $10 million, was for Canadian truckers on strike over Canadian Covid vaccine requirements.

Koepka Wins PGA Championship
Brooks Koepka won the 2023 PGA Championship Sunday—one year after leaving the PGA tour to join the controversial LIV tour.
His victory challenges the idea that golfers on the Saudi-backed LIV tour are losing their edge. Since its creation, LIV has been locked in a bitter legal and business battle with the PGA.
The win also marks a personal triumph for Koepka, who was a big tour winner years ago and then fell into a long slump. This is his first major win in four years.
