Scientists Find Rats Love to Drive Tiny Cars

Scientists have discovered that laboratory rats don’t just drive tiny cars—they actually enjoy taking the scenic route.

At the University of Richmond, neuroscientists found their rodent test subjects mastered custom-built “rat-operated vehicles” (ROVs).

The rats showed enthusiasm for their motorized adventures, often jumping into their tiny cars and revving their “lever engines” with the eagerness of teenage drivers. Watch a video here. 

The study began with a humble cereal container and evolved into a “rodent version of Tesla’s Cybertruck.”

It revealed an unexpected bonus: rats display visible signs of joy and anticipation—including a newly observed “umbrella handle” tail position that suggests they’re quite literally high on life.

Liver Donor Meets Boy She Saved 

A New York woman, Sandy Flash, donated a portion of her liver to one-year-old Sonny, who was diagnosed with biliary atresia.

Flash and Sonny met at Cleveland Clinic, where Flash, who called the donation “the most fulfilling thing I’ve ever done” next to having her children, met the boy she helped save.

After Flash’s donation, Sonny has made progress in growth and development, with his mother calling organ donation “an unconditional gift.”

Rural Grandma Becomes Fashion Star

A Zambian grandmother has become a social media sensation after her New York-based stylist granddaughter began photographing her in high-fashion outfits against rural backdrops.

Margret Chola, in her mid-80s and known as Legendary Glamma, has gained 225,000 Instagram followers since Diana Kaumba started the “Granny Series” in 2023.

Chola, who models designer clothes and accessories in her village setting near Lusaka, says the project has given her a new purpose, while Kaumba uses the series to highlight that older people still have much to contribute.
