Israel Uncovers Major Tunnel at Gaza Border
The Israeli military uncovered an unusually large concrete and iron-girded tunnel designed to carry vehicles from Gaza right to the border, the biggest Hamas tunnel the Israelis have found.
The size and location of the tunnel (See Photo), which would have taken years to build, raised questions about how Israeli surveillance missed it. The entryway is a few hundred yards from a heavily fortified crossing.
The discovery comes while Israel is dealing with the fallout from the mistaken shooting of three hostages by their own troops. The hostages were killed during intense fighting between Hamas and Israeli soldiers.
Trump’s Lead Against Biden Growing
New polls show Donald Trump’s lead growing. In the GOP primary race, Trump’s up 7 points since November and 26 points since February. Fewer than one-third of Republican voters support any of his rivals, according to a new Fox News poll.
In a Rasmussen poll of likely voters, Trump led President Biden in a head-to-head matchup by 10 points, 48%-38%. In November, Rasmussen had Biden ahead 46%-42%.
A Bloomberg poll shows Trump leading Biden in six key battleground states: Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Nevada, and Wisconsin.
Feds to Back Mortgages up to $1.15 Million
Government lenders Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac increased their maximum home loan to $1.15 million for 2024, a new record, to keep in line with rising house prices.
That loan amount is only for specific high-cost areas. Most U.S. counties will be capped at $766,550 next year, up from $726,200 this year.
In some high-cost cities, such as San Francisco and San Jose, 80% of the homes cost more than $1 million. Here’s a ranking of the top 15 metro areas by share of million-dollar residences.
