Good morning! Here’s a bit of June 12th trivia: On this day in 1987, President Ronald Reagan gave the famous Berlin Wall speech in which he said: “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!“
Today we’re talking about tennis player Novak Djokovic breaking the men’s singles record for major tournament victories, the death of the Unabomber, and Rod Stewart’s $70 million mansion.

Legendary Tennis Player Breaks Record
Novak Djokovic, a dominant tennis player from Serbia, has broken the record for men’s Grand Slam singles victories.
He won the French Open on Sunday, bringing his total to 23 and breaking his tie with Rafael Nadal.
“I am beyond fortunate in my life to win, 23 times, Grand Slams. It’s an incredible, incredible feeling,” Djokovic said after the match.
Djokovic is known for his incredible play, finishing a record seven seasons with a world #1 ranking and earning $167 million on tour. He’s also made headlines (watch) for locking horns with the Australian government over Covid vaccine policies. | Trump Vows to Fight
Former President Trump says he will never drop out of the presidential race or take plea deals in his ongoing legal battles.
“I’ll never leave,” Trump said while flying between campaign stops in Georgia and North Carolina. “Look, if I would have left, I would have left prior to the original race in 2016. That was a rough one. In theory that was not doable.”
His statement came among news that Aileen Cannon— a judge appointed by Trump in 2020— will oversee the case against the former President in Florida.
News also broke of a co-conspirator in the classified documents case against Trump: his personal aide, Walt Nauta, is charged with making false statements to the FBI. Nauta was allegedly involved in the movement of boxes full of classified information to keep them from investigators. | Unabomber Dies in Prison
Ted Kaczynski, known as the “Unabomber,” died in prison from an alleged suicide.
Kaczynski is infamous for sending bombs through the mail in an effort to destabilize American society. He killed three people and injured twenty-three in the process, and he became the subject of the largest manhunt in American history.
Records of his life reveal uncommon intelligence and hatred, and he left academia during his rise to become a recluse in Montana. From there, he hatched and executed his violent plot to undermine the modern social order. |
