Happy Saturday! On this day in 1985, the benefit concert Live Aid was held simultaneously in London and Philadelphia. Organized by Bob Geldof, the event drew an estimated 1.5 billion television viewers and raised millions of dollars for famine relief in Ethiopia.
One Flyover staffer said it was “oppressively hot” yesterday, and it made us think about cooler, more manageable weather. That led to Christmas, Christmas shopping, and today’s poll: Is it too early to start Christmas shopping? Take the poll below and let us know what you think.
As always, don’t hesitate to share your thoughts with us and reply to this email.

Nearly All AT&T Customers Hacked
AT&T announced on Friday that a data breach in April gave hackers access to records of calls and texts of “nearly all” its cellular customers between May 1, 2022, and October 31, 2022.
The data theft during the six-month period affected AT&T cellular and landline customers, as well as some users dating back to early January 2023. Hackers gained access to the data through AT&T’s third-party cloud service.
The Justice Department allowed AT&T two national security exemptions and allowed the company not to report the cyber breach publicly until Friday. At least one person connected to the hack has been apprehended.
Biden Opposition Grows
At least 20 congressional Democrats have now publicly called for President Biden to step down as doubts over Biden’s health and ability to beat former President Trump this November continue to grow. See the full list of congressional Democrats here.
Democratic donors also have concerns. A report by the New York Times on Friday revealed that a political action committee has threatened to withhold $90 million in donations if Biden remained atop the ticket.
In an attempt to reassure the party, Biden had a meeting with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries on Thursday. Friday’s meeting with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus ended abruptly when Rep. Mike Levin said it was time for someone else to lead.
Rep. Jim Clyburn, the senior Democrat who played a large role in helping Biden secure the 2020 nomination, appears to be firmly in Biden’s corner. “I’m riding with Biden no matter which direction he goes,” he said.
Possible Infectious Disease Exposure in Oregon
More than 2,400 patients at two Oregon hospitals may have been exposed to infectious diseases such as hepatitis B and C, as well as HIV, by an anesthesiologist who may have broken protocol.
The exposure involves patients treated at Portland area facilities operated by Legacy Health and Providence Health & Services. Other non-affiliated hospitals may also have been affected.
The unnamed physician was employed by both Legacy Health and Providence Health & Services and may have failed to follow “comprehensive infection control practices.”
Officials said they will contact all affected patients by mail and electronic notifications. They also encourage those patients to get a blood test at no cost.
