RNC Selects New Leadership

Yesterday, the Republican National Committee unanimously confirmed North Carolina GOP chair Michael Whatley and Lara Trump as RNC chair and co-chair.

Both Whatley and Trump were strongly recommended by former President Trump as he sought a change in leadership going into November’s election.

Whatley will focus on voter turnout, and Lara Trump, the former President’s daughter-in-law, will handle fundraising and media appearances.

“Over the next eight months, the RNC will work hand in glove with President Trump,” Whatley said.

Cinnamon Recall

The FDA has issued a recall of ground cinnamon sold by discount retailers Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, Patel Brothers, and Save A Lot after the products were found to have elevated levels of lead.

Brands impacted by the recall are Colonna Brothers, El Chilar Rodriguez, Marcum, MK, La Fiesta, Swad, and Supreme Tradition. You can see the list here.

The FDA has asked consumers to avoid purchasing and throw away any ground cinnamon made by those brands. Manufacturers were also asked to voluntarily recall products.

So far, no illnesses or health events have been reported.

Comedy, action, and nostalgia seem to be the themes among the batch of new streaming options this weekend.

Apple TV’s “The Reluctant Traveler: With Eugene Levy” returns with its second second season. Beloved funny man Levy does not like to travel, but he does it anyway for our entertainment.

British filmmaker Guy Ritchie’s new series “The Gentlemen” debuts on Netflix. It’s a loose remake of his film under the same name, and features proper villains doing proper villain things.

Once again, we have Flyover staff recommendations: “Wonka” on Max, “Royal Pains” and “Tacoma FD” on Netflix, and “Northern Exposure” on Amazon Prime.
