Good Morning! On this day in 1776, the Second Continental Congress approved Richard Henry Lee’s resolution declaring the American colonies independent from Great Britain. The vote cleared the way for the Declaration of Independence, which Congress formally adopted two days later, on July 4.
There are plenty of ways to get engaged. A candlelit dinner. A beach at sunset. Or, like one couple on Wednesday, masked and balanced on the antenna of the Empire State Building, followed by a prompt arrest. We have details below.
Sleep experts have a new answer for why so many of us struggle to sleep well, and it has less to do with how many hours we log than you think. A new study followed adults in their 50s, 60s, and 70s for six weeks and found five specific habits that made a real, measurable difference in how rested people felt, some of them surprisingly simple. Tune in to today’s Flyover Podcast as Ayla reveals the five habits and why researchers say it only took a few minutes to see results. Ready to sleep better tonight? Tune in here to learn more!

Record Heat Grips US Into July 4
A dangerous heat dome settled over more than half the country on Wednesday, trapping over 175 million people under sweltering temperatures just as the nation heads into its Fourth of July weekend.
Highs across the Northeast could top 100 degrees with the heat index climbing as high as 115, and forecasters warned that more than 300 records could fall by Saturday, some of them more than a century old.
Cities scrambled to respond, with Philadelphia trimming its Independence parade, New York rolling out vans staffed by nurses, and cooling centers opening across the region.
Heat is the leading cause of weather-related deaths and poses the greatest danger to the elderly, a risk underscored by the 1,300-plus deaths reported during last week’s European heat wave.

Trump Takes Flight on New Air Force One
President Trump took his maiden flight on a new Air Force One on Wednesday, a retrofitted $400 million Boeing 747 gifted by Qatar, bound for North Dakota and the dedication of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library.
The jet trades its trademark light-blue hull for a navy, red, and gold design Trump chose himself, adding wood paneling, lie-flat seats, and massage chairs for the traveling press.
In Medora, he took a short ceremonial train ride as part of the Freedom 250 celebration before honoring Roosevelt, drawing “USA!” chants from the crowd.
The gift drew ethical concerns, and the jet will serve only until Boeing delivers long-delayed replacement planes in 2028. See interior photos here.

Couple Climbs Skyscraper, Gets Engaged, Goes to Jail
Daredevil climbers Angela Nikolau and Ivan Beerkus, known for scaling the world’s tallest skyscrapers without ropes or harnesses, illegally climbed the Empire State Building on Wednesday, reaching the tip of its antenna 1,454 feet over midtown Manhattan.
They spent roughly half an hour at the top, kissing and unfurling a giant banner reading, “When the power of love beats the love of power, the world knows peace,” while posting footage of the climb online. See photos here.
Still perched high on the spire, Beerkus dropped to one knee and proposed with a ring. Nikolau said yes, and police took both into custody just after they climbed down, around 1 p.m. ET
The two starred in Skywalkers: A Love Story, a 2024 Netflix documentary chronicling their rope-free climbs around the world, though it remained unclear how they slipped past Empire State Building security. See the Netflix trailer here.

Why America’s Next 250 Will Look Different
America’s first 250 years ran on oil. The next 250 may run on lithium.
AI data centers, military drones, EVs: they all depend on it. With demand projected to grow 5x by 2040, the company that leads lithium production could lead America’s energy future.
That’s what EnergyX aims to do. For America’s 250th birthday, they’re giving our nation a clear path to a domestic lithium supply, releasing the US from China’s 70% stranglehold on the supply chain.
They’ve built the technology that can recover up to 3X more lithium than conventional methods. And they’ve already opened America’s largest lithium production demo facility of its kind in Texas.
Now, they’re preparing to unlock up to 15M+ tons of lithium to deliver the supply America needs.
Own a piece of this new era of American energy. Become an EnergyX shareholder before the July 16 deadline.

How Texas Will Become a Lithium Powerhouse
Texas just made history. EnergyX commissioned the largest lithium production demo facility of its kind in the state, and they’re just getting started.
America needs 5X more lithium by 2040. But supply deficits are already forming, with Morgan Stanley projecting an 80K-ton shortage this year alone. So oil giants like Exxon and Chevron have been buying up land in Texas, America’s emerging lithium hotspot.
EnergyX’s patented technology recovers up to 3X more lithium than conventional methods at 500X the speed. They have rights to ~50,000 acres of lithium-rich Texas land with 3M+ untapped tons, part of a global portfolio with up to 15M+ tons.
General Motors, POSCO, and 50,000+ investors have already backed them. Invest in EnergyX before the July 16 deadline.
