Hunter Biden Plea Deal Derailed by Judge
Hunter Biden’s deal to avoid jail by pleading guilty to tax charges fell apart Wednesday after a federal judge questioned the scope of the agreement and whether it would shield Biden from other charges in the future.
Pressed by the judge, Justice Department prosecutors admitted they were still investigating Biden’s activities. That caused Biden’s defense attorneys to pull out of the agreement.
In the end, Biden pleaded not guilty to the tax charges. His lawyers and the Justice Department will now have to negotiate a new agreement or go to trial. | Carmakers Plan Vast EV-Charging Network
Seven large automakers, including GM, BMW, Honda, Hyundai, and Kia, announced a joint venture to create a massive recharging network across North America for electric cars.
The first U.S. charging stations are set to open next summer, first in big cities and major highways and then in popular travel and vacation routes. Ultimately the plan is to build 30,000 charging stations.
The total cost for the build will be in the billions of dollars. The new stations will support Tesla’s charging standards but also compete with the existing Tesla network. | Feds Hiding Alien Tech, Witness Tells Congress
David Grusch, a former Air Force intelligence officer, told Congress the government is hiding a longstanding program that retrieves alien technology—a claim the Pentagon has denied.
In hearings into UFOs on Wednesday, witnesses also spoke of flying anomalies that couldn’t be explained and of being stigmatized when they brought such claims to the government’s attention.
Congress is seeking a way to review all UFO claims, and the Senate has introduced legislation to set up a review board. Despite all the discussion, no one has produced any evidence of alien life or artifacts.
