US Resumes Strikes on Iran After Missile Attack

American forces began striking Iran at 8 p.m. Wednesday, a move Central Command called a “powerful response” to Tehran’s attempted attack on U.S. troops.

The strikes answer Iran’s ballistic missile barrage on a U.S. base in Jordan Tuesday, its first since President Trump paused attacks Friday to give diplomacy a chance. Jordanian air defenses intercepted five of the missiles.

American and Saudi jets also struck weapons sites in eastern Iraq Tuesday, retaliation for more than 30 drone attacks on U.S. forces in three days. Read the U.S. Central Command announcement here.

Oil prices climbed, and the Dow Jones dropped over 1,100 points Wednesday as the fighting resumed after a three-day pause.

Fauci Pleads the Fifth More than 100 Times

Dr. Anthony Fauci invoked the Fifth Amendment at a Senate hearing Wednesday, refusing to answer questions about the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the first time the 85-year-old had done so in more than 250 appearances before Congress.

Fauci pleaded the Fifth more than 100 times over three hours, and his attorney was ejected from the room. Chairman Rand Paul also alleged that the CIA quietly funded Fauci’s institute through an interagency agreement.

Former President Biden preemptively pardoned Fauci, but Republicans argue any new false statements would fall outside that protection and expose him to perjury charges.

Paul announced the committee will vote next week on referring Fauci for contempt of Congress. He questioned whether the Fifth Amendment even applies to someone holding a pardon.

New Six Flags Coaster to Break 6 World Records

Six Flags Great Adventure unveiled a record-breaking new roller coaster Tuesday that will send riders 382 feet into the sky at 100 mph. Bakunawa, named for a moon-devouring sea serpent from Philippine mythology, opens at the New Jersey park in 2027.

The ride will claim six world records, including the world’s first upside-down launch. Riders will accelerate from 60 to 80 mph while fully inverted.

Free-spinning, floorless trains rotate independently throughout the 3,163-foot course, so no two rides are identical. Each trip lasts about two minutes and 17 seconds.

Bakunawa rises near the former site of Kingda Ka, the beloved 456-foot giant demolished last year after two decades as an icon of the park. See the concept footage here.

A month ago, the Minnesota Star Tribune won a Pulitzer Prize. Last week, it announced it’s cutting 15% of its staff.

That’s been the shape of the whole year. In February, the Washington Post eliminated more than 300 newsroom jobs and closed its sports and books desks outright. The BBC is shedding up to 2,000 roles. BuzzFeed and HuffPost cut about a third of their people. In Pittsburgh, the Post-Gazette shuttered its entire opinion section and published its last editorial.

Here’s what none of those outlets will say out loud: this is what happens when you spend years telling your audience what to think instead of what happened. Readers can tell when the news is tilted, and they’ve been walking away by the millions.

The numbers back it up. Gallup now finds just 28% of Americans trust the media to report the news fully, accurately, and fairly. That’s the lowest it has ever measured.

The legacy media created this problem. The Flyover was built to be the solution, and the difference is simple. They editorialize in their reporting. We don’t. They tell you what to think about the news; we just show you what happened, clearly and fairly, and trust you to make up your own mind.
