Good Morning! On this date in 1930, Turkey officially changed the names of its major cities to Turkish names. Afterward, they just had to keep telling everyone: It’s Istanbul, not Constantinople. (Hear Original 1953 Song)

Disney, DeSantis Agree to End Lawsuits
The two-year legal battle between Disney and Gov. Ron DeSantis ended Wednesday with the two sides agreeing to end the litigation, leaving Florida in control of the tourist district overseeing Disney World.
The lawsuits began after Disney opposed a Florida law banning sex education for young children in grade school. DeSantis then dissolved the Disney board, which for 50 years had overseen Disney’s land development. Multiple lawsuits followed.
As part of Wednesday’s settlement, Disney agreed to give the new DeSantis-appointed board control over the district, though with an agreement that they’ll consult with Disney on major changes. Disney also agreed to defer its appeal of a lawsuit against DeSantis.
Longtime Senator Joe Lieberman Dies
Joe Lieberman, the longtime Connecticut senator who was Al Gore’s running mate for the contested presidential election in 2000, died Wednesday at the age of 82.
Lieberman was the first Jewish-American nominated on a major party’s ticket. The 2000 race, one of the closest in U.S. history, was ultimately decided by the Supreme Court.
Through his long career, Lieberman was known a hawk on foreign affairs. His support of the 2003 Iraq invasion alienated him from many Democrats, and he ended his career as an independent. Photos of his life are here.
MLB Opens 145th Season
Major League Baseball opens its 145th season today. Over the decades, Opening Day has become a tradition embraced by fans, players, and cities. Here’s today’s lineup of games.
Opening Day has plenty of fanfare not seen on most gamedays: Introductions of every player, coach and staff member, the Budweiser Clydesdales trotting around the field in St. Louis, and Cincinnati fans celebrating with the Findlay Parade, a 94-year-old tradition.
It’s also a rare opportunity to see every club’s star pitcher take the mound. Your favorite hurler might not throw a no-hitter like Bob Feller in 1940, but even if he was yanked after the first inning (like Yoshinobu Yamamoto last week), he’s got all season to turn it around.
