Biden Joins “National Security Threat” TikTok
President Biden’s presidential campaign joined the Chinese-owned social media app TikTok, walking back a 2023 promise of opposition to the app.
The Biden administration previously called TikTok a national security threat and banned federal employees from using it on government-owned devices.
Nonetheless, Biden made his first TikTok post on Super Bowl Sunday in a video titled “lol hey guys” under the username @bidenhq. You can see it here.
Campaign officials justified the policy reversal as a political necessity, saying, “The campaign will continue meeting voters where they are.”

Iconic Gun Maker Set to Leave NY for Georgia
Remington, the nation’s oldest gun manufacturer, will close its factory in Llion, NY, and move to Georgia after 200 years of producing firearms in the Mohawk Valley.
Remington CEO Ken D’Arcy cited the “legislative environment” of New York as a core reason for the plant’s closure in early March. D’Arcy’s position is similar to one given by Smith & Wesson when they left Massachusetts for Tennessee in 2021.
Remington will leave behind a 1 million-square-foot facility that officials claim dates back to World War I and has become too expensive to maintain and insure. Also left behind will be a community that has been tied to Remington for generations.

Police Identify Osteen Church Shooter
Police offered new details Monday on the shooter at televangelist Joel Osteen’s megachurch in Houston who was killed by two off-duty officers on Sunday. A video of the moment shots could first be heard is here.
The shooter was identified as Genesse Moreno, a mentally ill person with a long criminal record. Police said Moreno used multiple aliases of both men and women.
Moreno carried the rifle with the words “Free Palestine” into the church in tow with a 7-year-old boy, who was shot during the incident and is in critical condition. Another man was injured but has been released from the hospital.
