Good Morning! On this date in 1894, a candy store in Vicksburg, Mississippi, became the first to sell Coca-Cola in glass bottles. Up until then, Coke had been sold only at soda fountains. (See First Bottle)

Biden Proposes $7.3 Trillion Budget
President Biden unveiled a $7.3 trillion 2025 budget proposal Monday, highlighted by increased spending on Social Security and Medicare, as well as higher taxes for corporations and the wealthy.
House Republicans immediately blasted Biden’s call for $5 trillion in new taxes and $8 billion in spending for climate change, saying it was reckless and would further burden “hard-working Americans.”
White House officials called the budget realistic and pointed to included proposals like a $2,000 cap on drug costs and $35 insulin as proof that Biden “values the American people.”
Republicans disagreed. “Biden’s budget doesn’t just miss the mark – it is a roadmap to accelerate America’s decline,” House leaders said.
Poll: Parents Squeezing to Support Grown Kids
Nearly half of American parents have a child older than 18 that they’re supporting financially, including adult children into their 40s and 50s, according to a detailed new survey by Savings.com.
The survey shows that parents are, on average, paying $1,384 a month to help support their kids — more than twice what they report contributing to their own retirement. For adult children over the age of 28, the average monthly amount drops to $900-$1,000 a month.
Nearly 60% of adults say they’ve sacrificed their own financial security, up from 37% a year ago, Savings.com reports, while 61% of adult children living at home don’t contribute to household expenses at all.
List: The Oldest Bar in Every U.S. State
Today is Travel Tuesday at the Flyover, and if you’re in the mood for a historic armchair pub crawl, here’s a list of the oldest bars in every state in America.
The list ranges from the nation’s oldest bar, the 1673 White Horse Tavern in Rhode Island, through New Orleans’ 1722 Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop Bar and into the relatively modern 1847 Village Tavern in Long Grove, Illinois.
Many of these long-standing establishments are also high-end restaurants now. You can see which is the oldest bar in your state at the link above, along with photos.
We’re happy to report that The Flyover keeps growing, now surpassing 610,000 readers thanks to our advertisers and readers like you. Click here to share with your friends and family.

Speech clarity is the most important factor when it comes to hearing aids. And audiologists everywhere are raving about “the new gold standard” when it comes to clarity in conversation. They’re referring to hear.com’s Horizon, which features a first-of-its-kind dual-processing system.
What does this mean? It means clarity. It means speech gets clearer and crisper – more than ever before. Conversations and listening become effortless. And because Horizon comes in a tiny, nearly invisible design, no one will even know you’re wearing them.
