Trump Wins Bond Victory in Appeals Court
A New York appeals court Monday agreed to reduce former President Donald Trump’s bond to $175 million and give him ten more days to raise it, saving Trump from immediate seizure of any of his assets.
Trump had been facing the need to raise more than $454 million to satisfy the bond requirement in his civil fraud case. However, the appeals court delayed that deadline and halted other parts of the ruling that would have kept Trump family members from holding corporate office in New York.
Trump welcomed the news as a victory and said he would post the $175 million bond by the deadline. Posting the bond will halt actions against his assets until a full appeal is heard, which could take months.
Boeing CEO to Step Down in Shakeup
Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun will step down at year’s end, as part of a broad management shakeup at the troubled aircraft manufacturer.
Also leaving will be board chairman Larry Kellner, who won’t run for reelection to the job this year, and Stan Deal, CEO of the commercial airplane unit, effective immediately.
Boeing has been under pressure since a door blew out of a 737 Max in January. Since then, it’s faced federal investigation, aircraft delivery problems, and criticism from its client airlines.
Feds Raid Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Mansions
Homeland Security officials raided rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs’ properties in Miami and Los Angeles yesterday.
Combs has been the subject of multiple sexual assault lawsuits over the last few months, and the raids on his homes were part of a federal investigation into sex trafficking. Several people were taken in handcuffs from Combs’ Los Angeles home (see video), and his two sons were temporarily detained during the search.
As heavily armed federal officials served search warrants and entered his properties, Combs was filmed pacing around at a Miami airport. According to reports, he was on board a private jet when Homeland Security showed up and questioned members of his party.
