The U.S. and Britain carried out a third airstrike in Yemen Tuesday, destroying four anti-ship ballistic missiles ready to be launched by Houthi rebels. You can see British video of the fighter-jet attack here.
The rebels have hit a U.S. container ship and damaged a Maltese freighter as the naval conflict in the Mideast continues to escalate. This week, the Houthi promised to retaliate directly against the U.S.
Meanwhile, the Navy has mobilized ships and aircraft to continue searching for two Navy SEALs who went missing during a nighttime mission that confiscated Iranian missile parts. Here are photos and a video report.
Haley Vetoes Debating Without Trump
ABC canceled a planned Thursday night GOP primary debate in New Hampshire after Nikki Haley said she wouldn’t participate unless Donald Trump took part.
For his part, Ron DeSantis said he wouldn’t snub the voters, even if it meant debating with two empty podiums.
The New Hampshire primary is set for Jan. 23. An average of state polls show Donald Trump leading Haley by 14 points, 43% to 29%, with DeSantis lagging at 6.5%. All the polls were taken before Monday’s Iowa primary.
For the Democratic Party, President Biden isn’t on the ballot but is running a write-in campaign against Rep. Dean Phillips. The polling average shows Biden at 58% to Phillips’ 9.8%.
Chicago Weather Freezes Teslas Dead
Many of Chicago’s Tesla owners were frozen out of their cars by sub-zero temperatures, leaving them to wrestle with dead batteries and charging stations unable to function in the cold.
In Skokie, a Chicago suburb, a station with 20 supercharging stations was packed all day as drivers waited to plug in. One owner said he landed at Chicago’s O’Hare airport and had to hire a tow truck to haul his Tesla away.
Some owners simply left their cars at non-working charging stations and got other rides. “You’ve got a bunch of dead robots out here,” one owner said.
